Camerata Durham Castle

Camerata is aimed at a chamber choir of expert, ambitious and high achieving singers. It is run over a weekend in a number of attractive locations.

Durham Castle, together with Durham Cathedral, forms one of the most famous vistas in Britain and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Be one of around 30 experienced singers joining the renowned choral conductor, Paul Spicer to learn and perform choral chamber music in the stunning setting of Durham Castle, which together with Durham Cathedral, forms one of the most famous vistas in Britain and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Rehearsals will be held in the Senate Suite and the final concert will be in the Great Hall – and to add to this memorable experience, accommodation can be booked within this historic location.

The provisional programme for the weekend is:
Saturday:
10 am Register and coffee
10.30 - 1.00 pm Rehearsal
1.00 - 2.00 pm Lunch *
2.00 - 4.00 pm Rehearsal
4.00 - 4.30 pm Tea
4.30 - 5.30 pm Rehearsal

* A light lunch of soup, filled rolls, fruit, and juice/tea/coffee is included on both days
Sunday:
10.00 am Rehearsal
Coffee
12.00 Rehearsal
1.00 pm Lunch *
2.00 - 4.00 pm Rehearsal
Tea
5.00 pm Concert
(Audience tickets £5 on the door)
The cost is £110 per person which includes lunches and refreshments. Please note that there is an option for non-singing partners to attend (£20).
